It's been months in the making, but the time has come to unveil our one-of-a-kind wellness and health maintenance program. This event marks a new era for Brooksville Cardiology. But more important, it presents a new opportunity for our patients to become healthier and save money.
Our venture is the first of its kind in Hernando County. It is an offshoot of a growing trend in the healthcare industry known as concierge, or direct-care, medicine. These types of innovative medical practices are changing the paradigm for health care delivery in the United States.
When one considers the uncertain future of health care policy, the rising cost of health insurance, and that our country is in a sustained recession, it is no wonder that physicians are looking for creative ways to be more efficient and responsive to their patients' needs. At the same time, patients are seeking more affordable and accessible health care. These circumstances have created the perfect storm for reform.
Our Wellness and Health Maintenance program is designed to prevent disease, or detect and treat problems early-on, thereby avoiding the ensuing high costs of expensive procedures or hospital admissions. It's a simple approach with obvious benefits to those who join. Here's how it works:
Members invest a modest monthly retainer to receive a host of services that are customized to their individual health care needs. These services are outlined in their agreement with Brooksville Cardiology, but a brief description includes office visits, blood work, cardiovascular screenings and procedures, educational seminars, immune system therapy and email access to the doctor, to name a few.
There are no hidden costs, no co-payments or need for pre-authorizations from your insurer.
Details of all these services/benefits are spelled out in the agreement. If you would like to learn more, you may visit our office any Wednesday or Friday at 9 a.m.
You also are invited to be our guest at an informational seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 5-7 p.m. at the Palace Grand in Spring Hill. Free refreshments will be served while we explain the program and answer your questions about enrollment. We recommend that interested patients not delay joining because membership is limited, which is the only way we can provide such individualized care.
We hope to see you there. Until then, please remember, Your Heart Matters.
